S. B. Pres. meets new student. Clean-up campaign KEY CLUB This Junior Kiwanis organization operates for charitable purposes. The year's main projectis to give Christmas baskets to needy families. Only boys with a high grade aver- age are eligible for membership in this fine club, the largest of its kind in the United States. STUDENT COUNCIL The purpose of the Student Council is to promote better understanding between the students and faculty. Their members are elected representatives of the student body, and through the Council the students can propose administrative changes. The Coun- cil supports student body elections and various projects for the good of the school. Two recent projects were to conduct a clean- up campaign and to show new students around the school. Our cooks. LUNCH ROOM The high school lunch room serves an average of 175 students each day. The generous mealcosts only 2595, a bargain for which the students are grateful. The ap- petizing meals are planned by Miss Loma Bruner,the Home Economics teacher. The cooks, and the length of time they have been at B.H.S. are as follows: Mrs. Ruth Stacey, 6 years, Mrs. Eunice Nevins, Z yearsg and Mrs. Trulabelle Epps, 5 months. For a daily average, Z0 gallons of milk are consumed, Z0 loaves of bread, 6 to 9 gallons of each canned vegetable, 550 rolls, and 18 hens. These are approximate fig- ures, but from them it can be seen that available tothe students each day is a well- rounded hot lunch.
