MARCHING BAND Thrs year the Band has seen more steady growth and expans1on m mem bersh1p and mus1c1ansh1p Present number of mstrurnentahsts 1S 65 Future plans call for a level 1ng off at from 65 to 70 members We are approach1ng an 1deal 1nstru mentat1on balance Grade and H1gh School students rn the Semor Band are about evenly d1v1ded wxth the rat1o 1ncreas1ng 1n favor of I-hgh School students Next year the Band w1ll be membered about 80 per cent by the end of the year Two add1t1onal bands prov1de rudementary tra1n1ng for future bandsmen Each year close to f1fty people try then' hand at man1pulat1ng an 1nstru ment Usually about Z5 of these are ready for graduat1on to 1nterrned1ate band by the end of the year The Band g1VeS three concerts dur1ng the year and hosts the annual Wh1te R1ver League Band Cl1n1c here 1n February Str1ct and prec1se drlll have caused us to be known as a f1ne marchmg un1t at appearance throughout th1s area 28
