B TEAM Coach Chase James Noel James Massey Ralph Co gburn John Ronc etto Jim Shannahan Jan Rickman Tommy Field Don Weeks Donahue Epps George Barger Larry Gill Mgr Despite the loss of nine men from the championship 51 52 Branson High School basketball team through gradu ation J E Chase has once more brought the attention of the entire state to the Branson Pirates Ignoring the early skeptics and side line supervisors who were expecting a dreary season our Coach took the material he had at hand and whipped and molded it into a lst class ball club Branson has lon been recognized as a tournament or money ball club and this year was no exception The Bran son Pirates led y John Boyd s 405 points and remarkable rebound ability once again won the applause of the entire Branson Community Although Sparta tripped the Pirates in the finals Of the Nixa Tournament the Pirates bounced back to gain a name for themselves by downrn mighty Waynesville and then avenged the earlier loss by defeating Sparta for the cham defeated S of O in the finals of the Branson tournament for the 3rd straig t year The Pirates lose only five players from the squad this year and next year s team will be experienced but nevertheless a young team The Staff of the Buccaneer Joins the student body in praise of this year s championship team and extends best wishes to Coach Chase and the team for 53 54 l A TEAN1 Left to right Larry Gill, Mgr , Kenny Lewallen, Max Crosby, Bill Akers, J B Akers, Stanley Dixon, Pete Rea, Bob Barnes, Dale Russell, Johnny Boyd, Keith Jackson, Coach Chase '6 2 J I pionship of the talent loaged Blue and Gold Tournament.
