And as we want to write some history, we really must put down 1066 and 1887, because who ever heard of history without dates? In the year 1066 William the Conqueror landed on the south-east coast of England and defeated the Saxon King at the battle of Senlac (Hastings). The most enlightened authorities on history will confirm this statement. The second date 1887 is connected with an event that you will not find in your history books, but is one of tremendous importance to us. It is the date of the founding of the Burroughes firm.
