f.gs.. li S.A.F.E. fStudent Action For Environ- mentl was founded on Earth Day April 30, 1970, and since has become one of Branham's most active and dynamic clubs, best known for the recycle center, which has been operating since 1971. S.A.F.E. has done creek clean-ups, planted trees in the Santa Cruz mountains, and helped other organizations in their ef- forts to improve the environment. These activities represent but a few of the ac- complishments of the club which has also provided many excursions for its members: campouts at Uvas Canyon Park, a BART trip to the University of California, and an annual trip to Yosemite National Park. Knowing that you can make a difference in helping the environment is a rewarding feelingg one that is found through S.A.F.E. 40 .A.F.E.
