Mr. and Mrs. Williams moved to Suwannee County in 1967 from Jacksonville, Florida. Both are graduates of Florida State, with degrees in math, science, and art. Miss Ann, although we will greatly miss your quick step, ready smile, and expertise in the training of our minds, eyes, and fingers, we sincerely wish you a long and happy retirement and many pleasant days on your veranda. We hope the flowers grow profusely and that long awaited trip abroad will come your way. Your influence and appreciation of art and beauty will remain with us and BHS indefinitely. We salute you and offer our thanks. Mr. Williams, to you we offer our thanks and sympathy. Thanks for your quiet concern and help given so generously to so many, and for the strong guidance in our daily lives and education. Sympathy, because you still have us to look forward to for (we hope) many more terms. On behalf of the faculty and student body, we say thanks and proudly dedicate the 1981- 82 yearbook to you! 4 5 A Special Friend, a Master Teacher Shirley Ann Fletcher 1930-1982 Roses are very much like people. They come in so many colors, shapes, and sizes, yet each one is so uniquely different and beautiful in its own way. The tiny bud unfurls into a full, magnificent bloom, gracing our world with col- or and beauty. After its time and contribution are given, it fades and makes room for another. Surely our school, community, and personal lives have been enriched by the beauty and inspiration of one such rose — Miss Shirley. She gave freely of herself to everyone she touched. She inspired so many of us with her love, concern and willingness to share. She taught our minds to explore, question and enjoy the beauties of life and God. She, like a beautiful rose, filled our lives with beauty for that short time we call Life, and then left us with many precious memories, by which we have been made richer. 6 In Loving Memory L.O. Baldwin 1907-1981 Patsy Verne Brown 1928-1982 We must live through the weary winter. If we would value spring. And the woods must be cold and silent. Before the robins sing. The flowers must be buried in darkness, Before they can bud and bloom. And the sweetest and warmest sunshine. Comes after the storm and gloom. So the heart, from the hardest trial. Gains the purest joy of all. And from the lips that have tasted sadness. The sweetest songs will fall. For as peace comes after suffering, And love is reward of pain, So, after earth, comes heaven, And out of our loss, the gain. June Faye Beaty 1924-1981 Diane Mikells 1964-1979 7 Principal Mrs. Mary Daniels Dear Students, What an eventful year we have had! Thank you for accepting so many changes in the spirit of cooperation. You have made my first year as principal rewarding and memorable. You have respected the faculty, the facilities and each other. Truly, no finer student body exists. To the departing seniors, the love and best wishes of the entire staff go with you. You are exceptional and we will remember you with fondness. God bless you all. Mrs. Daniels Assistant Principal Mr. Mel McMullen Congratulations students and faculty! You have truly demonstrated this year, traits of the tradition at Branford School. Hopefully, in the years to come, this student body will continue to enhance and treasure those characteristics. You illustrate what other schools only attempt to accomplish. Fulfilling your respon- sibilities and aspirations will supplement the concern and support of the faculty and the community. Thanks for letting me share this experience with you. Sincerely, Mr. McMullen Guidance Counselor Mr. O.H. Munch He that takes truth for his guide, and duty for his end, may safe- ly trust God’s providence to lead him. That man may safely ven- ture on his way, who is guided that he cannot stray. These students brought with them not only their unique personalities and smiles, but also the rich cultural heritage of their individual countries. If we have learned one thing from their presence with us, it is that peace for mankind can best be achieved through understanding and fellowship between countries. They traveled a great distance, left family and friends behind, to learn the culture and the language of a foreign country. How many of us would have their strength? Our four Exchange Students were the following: Patty Daza from Ecuador, Hiroe Sawagashira from Japan, Chris Tarazona from Colombia, and Fabio Amaral from Brazil. 156 ilnaker Jessica Gre iieUy Caiwer Elementary Awards Perfect Attendance K Wanda Brown Kari Mincks 1st Jason Clark 2nd Connie Aderholt Scott Samera Timmy Terry Tatjimo Fr 3rd ■■■ j Amy O Lp |J Belinda Williy Hr Antonia done Trade Dajj Paula HaH Karen W 4th | Ronnie Smith | Randall Sessions Jeffrey Burt Carla Cannon Willie Green Melinda Fox 5th Andy Brown Cleonia Williams Scott Barnes Eddie Hand Sydney Ivey Lori Sambraus Jena Slocum Jason Drozik Amy Vann Jerry Leliberte Scott Irby _ .
