WT' The Reflections '80 staff put in many hours F' ' 'i ' both in school and out. We hope we have l , , 1- produced a book that will provide Brandon stu- ' ff' y dents with many hours of enjoyment while at If Q gn, the same time providing them with a chronicle . of the year's events and the people who par- ticipated in them. Tammy McCord was editor-in-chief, and eighth-grader Michelle Johnson, who will in- herit Tammy's job on the '81 staff, was assis- tant editor. Other staff members, who shared writing, selling, and distribution duties, in- cluded Christie Mendoza, Tammy Bellis, Rene Smith, Portia Mendoza, K. C. Towne, Terry Cohen, Carol Mathes, Laurie Bosso, Tina Wissinger, Terri Standish, Lori Lowack, Tess Zajack, and Alisa Corbett. Mr. Tillberg and Mrs. Jones were the faculty sponsors. When Mrs. Jones moved from the area second semester, Mrs. Debbie King stepped in to share the sponsorship duties. Such terms as headline, lead, widow, cap- tion, overprint, and reverse became part of our everyday vocabulary. The quality of a school's staff is the largest single factor in deter- mining the quality of the educational experience provided for stu- dents. A quality staff makes the difference between an average school and a superior school. At Brandon, we like to think we have that quality staff so important to a superior school. The goal of education is to help students realize their fullest poten- tial in two areas: academic and social. esae 4Brandon's faculty and staff gave that extra measure both in the classroom and out to help see that goal is met. They have shown that there's more to teachingland running a school than sitting at a desk. To foster school spirit, they have ridden donkeys, dressed up in ridiculous costumes, and given of their after-hours time to chaperone dances and cheer for the sports teams. They also did those things expected of a staff: planned lessons, graded papers, aiid worked ivvith individual students. 63
