Marie Simonds Bob Rawson Don Orvis Bob Marcelle r Class Prophecy The year is 1970 From the March 23 edition of the country's greatest newspaper, The Brandon Unlimited: Last night was the opening of the new Brandon Hilton, believed to be the largest luxury hotel in the world. A flock of Associated Press reporters and several mobile television units assigned to cover the gala event found themselves lost in the huge building. Searching for the festivities, they made a startling discovery. Concealed in one of the fabulous ballrooms of the hotel were the press-shy celebrities of the class of '58. Here for the first time is the amazing story of their successes. PAUL ASHLEY is manufacturing the newest hot-rods for teenagers. It’s called the Jet Jeep, designed from Paul's 1958 version. GENE BARROWS is head librarian at the Brandon Municipal Library. AUDREY BECKWITH is succeeding as the proprietor of Beckwith's Pharmacy. ELAINE BROWN is a test-driver for Ford Motor Company. ROBERT FALES is the owner of Ryan Motors, still using the slogan See Ryan Before Buying. Mr. Ryan, who now sells Fords, finds this very helpful. ANNETTE FAY has risen to fame as the world’s lightweight champion lady wrestler. ANN GREENO is one of several interior decorators working for Grace Kelly in Monaco. DAVE RUBY, after extensive study under the hood of his car, is editing a monthy magazine called Roaring Rods and Rear Mains. First of all, the paper is being printed instead of mimeographed, which cuts down on preparation time a lot, secondly, it is being published five times a year instead of only three, and last but probably most important, we are trying to start a policy of producing issues that are amusing but still serious enough to keep from being trivial. We hope that following years will see many new students who are interested in making our school paper really good. Driver Education TO SPEED In appreciation for your invaluable service Brandon High is fortunate to have a man whose talents extend to coaching soccer, basketball, and baseball. Our Mr. Fallon, an outstanding young coach, is be- ginning to make Brandon High known not only for its athletes, but for its fine sportsmanship. We are look- ing forward to many years of athletic successes. V. Cheerleaders Ski Team This is one of the newer organizations at Brandon High and, along with basketball, it will probably become one of Brandon's major winter sports. The team has had a few meets this year, and the boys have had a chance to experience competitive skiing. During the 58-59 season the team will compete regularly with surrounding schools. Under the expert guidance of Mr. Painter, one of the best skiers in the Northeast, and with the fact that all members of the team will be returning next year, the team should be very successful in the coming year. Golf Team Like the ski team, the golf team is one of Brandon's more recent ventures into the field of sports. Currently the team is practicing at the Pittsford Country Club, but Mr. Barna hopes it will soon be pos- sible to play right here in Brandon. Although the boys have met with little success this year, they feel that the fun of playing more than balances the lack of victories. We expect the team to swing into high gear next year, because we will have the same good coach and a returning team. We are unable to report on this year's team because this book must go to press be- fore baseball season officially opens. Judging by the abundance of hitting strength, fine defensive material, and the ability of our coach, Mr. Fallon, the 1958 season should be very successful indeed. 3 2 1 3 1 2 1 7 1 3 3 4 0 WHELDEN COAL COMPANY, INC. 5 Railroad Avenue Brandon, Vermont Telephone 66 THE CROSBY INSURANCE AGENCY Brandon, Vermont Telephone 314 A Policy for Every Hazard Plus Prompt, Courteous Service RACINE TOWER CONSTRUCTION CO., INC.
