MENTAL POWER was the unofficial slogan for Chess Club and Bowling Club. Using this power, each member tested his skill by competing against other club members and against other high school teams. Under the guidance of Mr. Phillip Clark, their sponsor, and president Karl White- head, the members of the Chess Club used their wits, intelligence and high reasoning in making all the right moves. Although the Bowling Club was only in its second year at Brandon, it had well over 80 members. Ovenlvhelmed at the turnout this past year were Mr. Ed Lucker, the sponsor, and Keith Shenivood, the club president. The Bowling Club spon- sored an Eagle Walk for Spina Bifida and American Cancer Society which had a great participation and raised a lot of money. By competingwith other schools, the Brandon Bowling and Chess Clubs were able to add to their talents and proved to be outstanding teams.
