We sometimes took driving an auto- mobile for granted, but the Auto Mecha- nics and Drivers' Education Departments helped us to appreciate the automobile. Drivers' Education taught students the fine art of maneuvering a car properly and safely. Under the watchful eyes of Coaches Jeff DeCola, Taylor Stokes, Frank Vining, and Mr. Ray McCoy, we learned how to drive expertly. If a problem arose, Auto Mechanics was sure to solve it. Diligent students learned correct ways of maintaining and repairing the automobile. Mr. James Duf- fy directed students in understanding the car, lending a helping hand if needed. A great deal of patience was learned in these two departments as was new know- ledge. Most of all, Drivers' Education and Auto Mechanics brought us into a better perspective with the automobile. Both the and metal shops had similar ln these classes, the students taught about the different materials, and machines. For example, learned how to use the lathe for like knurling, center drilling shaping. This past year a vertical saw was added to the metal shop. Printing was one of our most important of mass communication.
