A Whole New World Getting a driver's license opened up a whole new world - a world of cars, dat- ing, being able to get that first job. But it wasn't all just fun and games. A lot of responsibility was involved with a license. A prospective driver had to have one full year of practice with a licensed adult be- fore he could drive on his own. After all when we got out on the streets not only our lives, but the lives of others were in our hands. Studying the driver's manual and taking driver's education courses were helpful. It was a lot of hard work, but well worth it. A whole new world was opened up by the driver's license. Susan Stewart knows practice is a fun- damental part of being a good driver. During the month of January we took final exams which added to the gloom and agony of the month. Knowing that there would only be one more time that we would have a break from school before summer vacation, which seemed like a long way off, put us into a state of despair. Even the usually terrific Florida weather could go bad in January. A cold snap sent us all looking for clothes to keep warm in and gave us all the sniffles. Janu- ary, Excessive Misery, had to be endured. January was definitely the pits. The January blahs begin for Shelby Clemons the first day back after Christmas.
