Shape Up Sha e U ' Bo ts? Most people are naturaqaf concerned with their looks. Nobody wants to be out of shape. Remarks such as, l've got to lose five pounds, or, l've started jogging again, were common as students and vw' teachers alike devoted hours to shaping up the old bod. While local health spas and racquetball clubs did a booming busi- ness, many people got busy with physical improvement in Brandon's gym, in the weights and conditioning room, or outside on our tennis and volleyball courts. Sweat- suits had become high fashion items, and everywhere around school people tried hard to make themselves fit the body beautiful image. A Whole New World Getting a driver's license opened up a whole new world - a world of cars, dat- ing, being able to get that first job. But it wasn't all just fun and games. A lot of responsibility was involved with a license. A prospective driver had to have one full year of practice with a licensed adult be- fore he could drive on his own. After all when we got out on the streets not only our lives, but the lives of others were in our hands. Studying the driver's manual and taking driver's education courses were helpful. It was a lot of hard work, but well worth it. A whole new world was opened up by the driver's license. Susan Stewart knows practice is a fun- damental part of being a good driver.
