When our classmates and teachers started showing up for school in cow- boy hats and punk outfits we knew something was up. Of course it was just Spirit Week, our traditional dress up week, but if a stranger had walked in he might have thought he had crashed a costume party. An October 31st Homecoming gave the week a de- cidedly spooky twist as students dress- ed in monster outfits. Monday began the week as people I dressed in the styles of the past, like bobby sox, leather jackets, and the ominous garb of the Mafia. Tuesday ' might have been one of the quietest days as the Miss irresistable contest progressed. As the contest went on there were people walking around with glitter on their faces, safety pins through their cheeks, and outlandish outfits because Tuesday was punk rock day a new addition to the tradi- tional days. The senior auction high- I lighted country and western day on Wednesday as Coach Matt Hauer au- ctioned twenty seniors off to the high- est bidder. Thursday was character day as students dressed as their favor- ite character from any source. Thurs- day night all clubs and organizations readied their exhibits to be judged, and later on the Hop-n-Eagle Pep Rally was held to give clubs a chance to per- form skits for awards. Friday capped the week off with the traditional ma- roon and white day and that night the grand finale the Homecoming game.
