The senior class officers enco aged seniors to sell at least three recor to insure their admission to Grad Nig held in May every year at Walt Disn World. If a senior wanted a second Gr Night ticket for a date or friend, he had sell five records. Other prizes such T-shirts, mugs, and blankets were giv out. Sales were slow at first, and the cl officers made daily pleas over the inte com for seniors to get with it and sell th quotas. Whether their pleas convinc people to get out and sell or whet seniors suddenly feared having to mi Grad Night, the result - the best sal total ever for a Brandon senior class convinced most members of the Class 1981 that they were the best senior class ever.

tepping head While some seniors could hardly wait until that day when they would finally be out of school forever, there were others who just couldn't seem to get enough of school. Not content to live out 1980-81 as high school students, they enrolled in courses at local colleges and began earn- ing credits toward their college degrees. One such person was Elaine Newell, who left Brandon at noon every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to head for USF, where she was enrolled in gerontology and anthropology classes. She was able to do that by being registered in individual classes as a special student. The advan- tages for students who chose to begin college while they were still in high school were that they could get a step ahead in earning college credit and they could still enjoy the activities of high school's senior year. The disadvantage was the extra studying required to make it all work.
