Charlene Bennett F-lobert Benscoter Judy Berg HoW's Your core A big step for college-bound seniors was the Scholastic Aptitude Test, other- wise known as the S.A.T. Students who wished to attend college during the up- coming year were required to take the exam and meet the specifications of the college they wished to attend. In most cases this meant that students must at least have scored an 800 out of a possible 1600. The S.A.T. took at least 3112 hours to complete. It consisted of six sections of twenty-five to fifty questions. Each differ- ent section of English or math took thirty minutes to complete. Most students took the exams at either University of South Florida or University of Tampa, and were there from 8:00 until 12:30. After the exams were completed and students had exhaled a sigh of relief, the waiting began. For six long weeks seniors waited anxiously for their test results. Would they have to retake the S.A.T. or had they succeeded in making the grade? To prepare for the S.A.T., Lori Felker gets a booklet from the guidance office.
