Year for Politician Pointing out one of the trouble spots of the African continent, Todd Disotell makes members of the So- cial Studies Club more aware of international poli- tics. 188 I Seniors Makincg speeches at school is good practice for future politian Mike unningham. All of us came through the November Presidential election knowing more about Jimmy, Rosalyn, Amy, Miss Lillian, Brother Billy, Ronald, Nancy, and the rest of the national political families than we'd ever cared to know. The Tuesday that Reagan was elected President was also the first time many of our seniors had ever cast avote in any election. Interest in politics and government was intense thanks to all the media attention given the year's candidates. Among us were som students who actually were involved i politics as members of Young Republica or Young Democratic movements. The reasons varied from the hope for career in politics to simply a sincere desire t assist in improving the quality of local an national leadership. Those who mo closely followed the political scene ke us all more aware of the importance each person's vote.
