Homecoming Homecoming at Brandon High School is always a fun-filled, exciting week — especially with this year’s theme, “Salute to the Comics.” Students and teachers alike were caught up in preparation for Friday’s events. The senior float received the first place award for the best float. The week culminated with a Bulldog vic- tory over the Jim Hill Tigers 7-6. Cheers and applause filled the night air as Jodie Howell was announced 1986 Homecom- ing Queen. Tears shown in Jodie’s eyes as Mr. Freddie Hutton crowned our new queen. Jimmy Lamb served as the disc jockey as the student body celebrated at the Homecom- ing Dance. Bulldog players, cheerleaders, band members, and student fans all joined in and danced till midnight.

In considering the ideal candidate for Miss BHS, three qualities come to mind: school spirit, determination, and friendliness. All three are personified by this year’s Miss BHS, Missy Baker. Her years of dedication to the student council, service in student government, and devotion to cheerleading, exemplify her in- volvement with Brandon High School and displays her school spirit. Her hard work on the Lady Bulldog’s softball team and her diligence in the classroom are shining ex- amples of her determination. Missy never meets a stranger — thus she is well known for her friendliness. It is easy to see why Missy, with her cheerful disposition, was elected a class favorite for three years and class beauty, homecoming maid, and Most Popular her senior year. Missy, the daughter of Tom and Merle Baker, attends First Baptist Church. 11
