Jerry and Gup were named To The all regional Team. ln The spring Judy Ross and Jim DeRosier were chosen To represenT W.l-l.S. aT Boys' and Girls' STaTe. Promoting Librar Interest Cine ot our most essential organizations, the Library Club, started an active year with a tall picnic and their annual initiation. Leading the club through the l95I- 52 season were Lorraine Peterson, president: Doreen Althott, vice-president: Charlotte Driver, secretary- treasurerf and their capable leader, Miss Lois White. During the year the girls had various proiects to improve the library. Lorraine Peterson started a short story index and Charlotte Driver had charge ot pub- licity and displays. Wilma Willis kept the scrapbook and with the help ot Edith Roske, and Doreen Althott, mended books. Doreen also designs bookmarks tor the library. The pasting and shellacing ot new books is done by Betty Whitney and Rosemary Fleischacker. Jeanette Bock and Charlotte Driver take care ot all library passes and notices. Last but not least are the housekeepers, who keep the library looking neat and orderly. They are Delores Grenier, Beverly Peterson, and Mardel Vanek. Choir Promotes Musical Interests The Washington High Choir, under the direction ot Mr. Curtis Hansen, began the year with many plans. i Heading the list ot plans was a three day trip. To V T ,,i' tinance this trip the choir sponsored their annual choir ' carnival, which was very succiesstul, and they also had a balce sale and a magazine drive. With the accumula- W tion ot the tunds, Mr. Hansen made plans and on April 23, 24, and 25, the choir toolc their trip. The choir made various appearances in and near the Twin-Cities and also in Wisconsin. Throughout the rest ot the year the choir provided entertainment at the Lion's Club and Rotary Club. Small groups sang at various community and educa- tional meetings and appeared at several churches. Also during the year the choir attended the choral clinic on February 6 at Aitlcin. There they sang two solo numbers and sang at the massed choir concert in the evening. Along with the choir Mr. Hansen had under his direction the Girls' Glee Club and the Freshman Girls' Crlee Club.
