The Phantom Diner by student council, and the AFS club flew in with The Propellers . What a great performance! Speaking of great performances, Sharon Peterson and Laura Holmer entertained the audience by singing Songbird . The new faculty skit was really gone , but the highlight of the evening was the crowning of the King and Queen, Mark Bacon and Vicki Lindquist. 1979 King Brad and Queen Mari were present to carry out the honors. Everyone trotted on down to the bonfire for a pepfest where Shannon Foote threw in a Princeton Football player . The Braham herd didn't feel that burning them was enough so they trampeled them 36-8 in Friday's football game. The dance was a big success and the townspeople liked the music by Centre Stage. All of the townspeople had so much fun during Homecoming week it was hard to get back to the old routine. Homecoming 83

On Friday, September 19, 1980 the town of Westview held their annual slave auction. Auctioneer Bodeen sold our senior herd of football players and cheerleaders to the townspeople. On Monday the slaves and their masters participated in the slave games while everyone dressed down for Drip Day. Tuesday was Fifties Day when all the men dressed up as Elvis Presley and the women as Marilyn Monroe. The winners of the contest were Mr. Bodeen and Connie Nordby. The excitement came on Wednesday when all of the guys dressed as girls, and the girls as guys. At the end of the day everyone was rounded up and brought out to the South pasture where the candidate games were held. The student council robbed chicken coops to get enough eggs for the egg toss. It was a change to see everyone dressed up on Thursday. The exciting evening began with a welcome from the M.C.'s, Bonnie and Brad. The Spanish Club started out with the first skit Some Help You Are . The Swing Choir continued with a more serious note by singing Time Is My Friend . The festivities continued with the skit, 82 Homecoming

The Importance Gf Being Earnest Memory . . . is the diary that we all carry about with us, unless of course we have these pictures to help remind us. But where is Bunbury? Didn't anyone get a picture of1'Bunbury? I remember him as being one of the most important characters of the play. CWe could never have gone on Without him.J Who would have filled in all those little silences when Cecily was trying to speak and Gwendolen was preserving a dignified silence? Could anyone but Bunbury have found a black leather wicker hand bag? Who would have given Merriman his cues or found cucumber sandwiches for Lane. Yes, my friends, it was Bunbury who wrote Chasuble's one and only sermon, it was Bunbury who opened pews for Miss Prism, and it was Bunbury who saved poor innocent Algernon from that old witch Aunt Augusta. So don't worry Jack, you and a lot of other babies in this world can rest assured that Bunbury is watching over The Importance of Being Earnest. an 'za an T? 84 Fall Play Row 1: Sandy Dehkes, Julie Peterson Row 2: Deb Athey, Teresa VanBeek Row 3: Do Mitchell, Tim Tomlinson, Vern Heise, Mary .lo Maslow, Mike Holmquist, Brad Lor Fred Hayes I Siiisis I 9
