CLASS OF 1924 xniuzni--init 3 .101 wx 1 -1.-3 fini.101.-it-3..1--1.-an--gn.-no--up-iQ. 4,010.9-.3 1 RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION A valuable department of the school is the work accomplished by the efforts of the local church organizations. This department consists of seven classes in religious instruction, conducted both in the elementary grades and in the high school. Supervised study is given to each class dur- ing part of each recitation. The recitations vary from 55 minutes in the high school to 1l,Q hours in the elementary grades. Education of youth would be of little value today if the moral train- ing were omitted. The average number of homes have been found want- ing in this respect and the educational forces are realizing that something must be done in connection with the public school to train the child the essentials of correct living. Religious training causes the pupil to realize his obligation to his associates, raises his standard socially, and reminds him of his destiny. Our school has develcped a good reputation in the religious courses offered. The work has been ably directed the past year by Mrs. L. G. Ol- son, Rev. A. P. Lawrence and Rev. A. Sjoberg. Systematic study and advanced courses each year will popularize the department.
