May the members of the society ever cherish the ideal expressed in the name of their organization. THE PHILOMATHIAN SOCIETY The Philomathian Society was organized September 1924. The name I'hilomathian is also derived from a Greek root meaning lovers of learning. Many subjects were taken up during the year. Some of which were the study of the American Indian, getting acquainted with the Irish, and others with lesser subjects. Among the more notable organizations within the society were the Agony Quartette and the Tritette. Both of these were organized for the purpose of getting acquainted with music.
