The result is that we collected most of the old jokes we could find for we wanted to be sure that they would all be jokes. This is supposed to be the funny part but the funny part of it is, it isn't so funny after all. Dcn't blame us, blame the one who wrote them first. THE PEA SOUP VARIETY Deckhand Drowns in Log Despite Hero's Efforts NOTHING DOING The Domestic Science teacher had found her class of girls reluctant in their writing of Cooking compositions. At last she conceived a great idea to stimulate their interest - to write an account of a dinner. It seemed that she was successful. With one exception, the girls threw themselves at the task and envolved youthful masterpieces. The backward one chewed reluctantly at her pen and was then struck by a burst of genius. Luneman still sleeping. Stroud rolls into town. Orlo and Floyd get breakfast. Lunemann gets up. Miss Widing receives her daily epistle at the post ofiice. Raymond and gang arrive from Rice Lake. Teachers are eating toast and coffee at restaurant. First bell calls many from their slumbers. Wallace rolls out of bed. Girls begin to gather in cloak room. Lunemann arrives. Wesley falls in. Geometry and English I classes file out. Eric makes some startling discoveries in Geometry. Physics class passes down to the lab. Girls in Physics class formulate some entirely new laws of gravita- tion. All are studying QYJ in assembly. English III class starts arguing. Argument becomes hot. Argument becomes hotter. Bell stops argument. Everyone feels hungry. Hunger worse. Hunger worser. Relief. Country pupils finish dinner. Town students plod their weary way back again.
