FHESHMEN CLASS HISTORY OFFICERS President- Gale Goetzce Sec. Treas.-Floyd Swanscn Class Advisor-J. M. Lunemann After eight years of sponge like absorbing of the primary funda- mentals of an education, Superintendent Aamoth measured the depth ot' the fissures of our brains and transierred us to the first seat of the sec- ondary department. On the eventful September sixth we took possession of this seat very meekly amid much unnecessary applause and contemptuous looks from those who had gone before us. These proceeded especially from the Soph- omore group who found great pleasure in our embarrassment. Despite their attitude, we adjusted ourselves to the prevailing situa- tion and, being of a progressive nature, we soon acquainted ourselves with the task before us. Then came the call of activities. Our young hopefuls proceeded to the Basketball floor where they helped materially in the development of the Basketball Teams. Several of our hand joined the Glee Club, others join- ed the Orchestra, all of which goes to show the greatness of the class of 1928.

111 101011 1111111111: 101 .ic ninja 1' l l i FIRST AND 2B GRADES A Health Club was organized, of which Aloran Hanson was made President and Marjorie Tysdale, Helper, last fall. The members of the Club demonstrated their interest and ability by giving a program before all the grades and the high school. The following sand-table projects have been carried out throughout this school year, in harmony with the seasons and with certain memorable occasions: An Indian village, Eskimo Landg the town of Bethlehem, the three wise men, the star, the stable and the manger, George Washington's Mount Vernon home, George Washington and the colt, the hatchet and the cherry tree, Abraham Lincoln's birthplace, the log cabin, Main Street in Braham, a spring gardeng a farm. A Kindergarten class was begun on April 17 and continued every Friday afterncon until the close of the school term. The various festive occasions which have been celebrated in the prim- ary room this year, are: Thanksgiving, Hallowe'en, Christmas, St. Valen- tine's Day, and Easter. The Cooking classes presented each child with a colored Easter egg at Easter-time. Some of the definite tasks which have been accomplished by the prim- ary children this year, are: Leaining to count change by means of a toy storeg the making of poem booklets, penmanship booklets, and a chart on which were recorded the Signs of Springg making of posters to repre- sent the following, -Rain, Health, a Thanksgiving Dinner, a Meat Mar- ket and a Baker Shop, sewing of Brownie Bean Bagsg and watching the growth and process cf Narcissus bulbs. 2A AND THIRD GRADES A Good Health Club was organized September 19, for the purpose of arousing the children's interest in forming good health habits by doing certain health chores every day which were recorded on health charts by the children. Stanley Ledin was chosen President, Carl Nebel, Vice President, and Vivian Jackson as Secretary of the Club. Health inspectors for each row were chosen weekly. Girls and boys in the 2nd and 3rd grades gave a poppy drill, Flan- ders Fields, at the Armistice Day program given by the Braham Ameri- can Legicn and Auxiliary on November 11. Other programs which were given during the year to celebrate some of the holidays were: a joint Thanksgiving program, given by grades one to five inclusive, and programs given by the first, second and third grades to commemorate the birthdays of Lincoln and Washington. During the year the children have enjoyed a number of parties on various festive occasions, by playing games, taking part in contests, and receiving goodies On Octcber 5th, Miss Jaeger and Miss Dahlin were surprised with a peanut shower, the occasion being their birthday. Hallowe'en, Christmas and Easter were also celebrated by the children.
