History to enioy himself. And at last our class rings arrived. We walked around for days just admEring them. We had tor proiects the sale ol magazines and candy. We beat the seniors in the magazine sale, and they had to give us a weiner roast, We also had one at Sparrovv's Pool, and Mrs. Tharrington gave us an ice cream supper at her home. During the summer of l954, we had a get-together picnic at Lake Mirl. Then at last we were dignified Senfors, or we thought so, anyway. We were proud to have with us again Mrs. Tharring- ton, whom we all loved and respected. We sold Christmas cards, corsages, candy, magazines, and brunswick stew. We greeted the New Year with a party at Mrs. R. L. Vl!5lson's home. Later we had a Valentine party at Mrs. H. A. Wilson's home. We chose Lights Out for our play, and it proved to be a success, Then around the corner came our Washington trip. This Nas the event of the year, because we had looked forward to t tor many months. We were burstng with anticipation and 'hen we were oll. One ol the hig'tl'ghts of our trip was the stage show at the Lowes Theatre. Naturally, the people in VVashing- 'on thought we were just dumb southerners, butdv-fe really en- oved ourselves. At last, graduation was in s'ght. Our thoughts were crowcl- ed with memories ol the past and plans for the future. Now that we have accomplished our goal, we world like o extend our deepest thanks to on parents and many teachers :nd Our principal for their kindness and gudance through the fears YVONNE BRANTLEY Historian
