They have spent many hours after school practicing with the help of their adviser, Mrs. Evans, The spirit of the players is kept up when the girls are there leading cheers for them. .M :man 1 rrw..ne.r.. The Finished Product SHOP CLUB The purpose of the Shop Club is to learn by doing. The members of this club learn to build and repair wood work and machinery. We learn to use tools, the safety of them, and have projects to make such things as cedar chests, reflnish furniture, and remodel furniture. FUTURE HOMEMAKERS OF AMERICA The Future Homemakers of America had a very success- ful year, Big activities for the year were the observance of U. N. Day, National F. H. A. Week, and Twirp Night. The Bethesda Chapter worked very closely with the Durham- Orange County Federation and worked to build better fu- ture homemakers. We have had mo be teficial demonstrations during this year and individual wc has been very popular. SPORTS JUNIOR VARSITY BASKETBALL A The Junior Varsity team, coached by Mr. McAllister and Mr. Herring, a practice teacher from Duke Uni- versity, has made the season a successful one for Bethesda. SENIOR VARSITY BASKETBALL The Varsity may not have won every game but the showed good sportsmanship which made them wir ners to us. New shower rooms, built by men of the communitj under the guidance of Mr. Rice, greatly increase the facilities of the athletic program.
