MISSOURI Compliments of KNIGHT’S STUDIO Paragould, Ark. To the home of our parents, grandparents, and ancestors. To a community built by men and women who dared to shape their own lives, who had enough courage to blaze new trails--enough confidence in themselves to take necessary risks (This self-reliance may be called individual initiative, or backbone). It is a precious ingredient in our national character. To a community whose people assert their inalienable right to human dignity, self respect, and self reliance--the kind of people who made America great. To a community which produced inspired leaders--in spirit and knowledge-- not just men and women with political power--but men and women who are militantly for the distinctive way of life, which was America--who practice self-reliance with strict devotion and understanding. To a community of fine tradition--whose standards have been high. To a community whose people have used wisely their rich farm lands. To a community whose churches and schools have been of the best. To one of the oldest and best communities in Southeast Missouri. PEPPER BOTTLING COMPANY Blytheville, Arkansas is CAROL LEE JOHNSON In memory of a well loved Senior whose death occured on March 16. She started the school year as a sophomore in 1962-63. Before that she was in school in Gray Ridge, Missouri. She was active in school affairs at Bragga- docio. Among other honors, she was voted the prettiest girl, and this year was elected Annual Queen by the student body. THE SENIORS’ MESSAGE The door to success is labeled 'push'.” Throughout our high school years this has been our motto, but only now, when we are about to graduate, do we realize the significance of this motto. We also rea- lize that the door to success would not be available to us had it not been for the lessons taught by our teachers, friends, and parents. Our teachers have helped us lay the foundation on our road to success by creating sparks of interest in our minds which have opened up newer and wider roads. They have helped us to assemble vital facts and have helped us to see the beauty around us. They have helped us to become individuals, to think for ourselves, and have taught us to solve our own problems. Our friends have also played a major role in our development for success. They have taught us the art of getting along, what it means to have a friend, how to be a friend, and have added that certain spice to our lives. Most important are our parents, our guiding lights to the door to suc- cess. True, they have given us financial aid, but this is not as im- portant as the fact that they have taught us that a wholesome life is the happiest life. They have also helped us solve our problems by giving us advice which they obtained from their own experiences. We must make them proud of us throughout our lives, so we will be their living trophies. So these three--teachers, friends, and parents--have guided us along the road to success. Gradually we find ourselves nearing the door to success. And with their help, we can be strong enough to open that door.
