Dedication v We, the annual staff of 1954-1955, do respectfully dedicate this volume of the Eaglet to Mr. William Powell. To him is due great admiration for his untiring efforts in the math and science departments and being the likeable person he is. He is a friend to the students and always has a smile for everyone. He loves hunting and fishing but his greatest joy in life is his family. 3 Administration Board of Education J. C. Gallaher, President; C. L. To Bonnie Ward, JoAnn Milligan leaves her ability to flirt— don't use it too often, Bonnie. Bob Bryant leaves his ability to get a girl to Walter Crain and O'neal McLemore and hopes they can teach him how to get one for keeps. Joe Bryant leaves his athletic ability and a pair of stilts to Charles Long and Douglas Worley. Ola Manley leaves her scholastic ability to Joe Scott (he really doesn't need it) and her love for The High and the Mighty to ir. Williams. Fatty Lowe leaves her quiet ways to Harvey Gill—the faculty hopes he uses them quite often. To Catheryn Watkins, Jeweline Kayes leaves how to get engaged. her knowledge of Dewanda Fulbright leaves her talking and giggling ability to Helen Clayton with hopes that she won't spend all her time with her books. Eilly Tipton leaves his ability to get Hygiene to Jimmy George with the following instructions: Please don't over workthat ability. Shirley Todd leaves her love letters to Sandra Hayes §nd Jean Landrum and hopes that they do them more good than they did her. Mildred Thompson leaves her ability to keep her mouth shut to Donna Prewitt and Valerie Hayes. (We doubt that this will do any good.) To Jimmy Grinstead, Ralph Simmons Leaves his ability to argue and we hope it will win more times for Jimmy than it didfbr Ralph. To Ronnie Whitfield, Shirley Strode leaves her will to study. (What a joke I' f Vj AkV |AKXa____ Norma Lafferty wills her skill in sports to Dollie Curtis. She also leaves to Dolly her ability to play 21. Eetty Maxwell leaves her love of sports to Peggy Huffman and also her old bonnet which is very good in order to avoid freckles. Freda Ash leaves her Angelic Role to Gloria Horton. (And she really needs it.) Faye Marshall leaves her leadership to Jerry Riggs. She also leaves any old Constitution papers to anyone who decide! to leave school without permission. Junior Pirtle leaves his love for chewing gum to Joe Olree. We hope Junior will get a Job that will pay him enough to buy his own gum. Mabel Sherwood leaves her telephone calls to Shirley Cross and all unpaid telephone bills to Mr. Wallace. JoAnn Milligan leaves her dynamic personality to Raymond and Cratis Inman—and her ability to work World History to any one who might happen along. Joe and Norma leaves the back seat of the players’ bus to Jimmy and Gloria—and we hope that both of them will learn to count above 21. Mr. George Williams leaves the sponsorship of the Senior Class to Mr. James Arnold. (This shouldn't happen to any decent, law abiding citizen.) We do bequeath to: The Junior Class, our empty shoes hoping they will fill them and have just as muchfUn as we have had. The Sophomore Class, the ability to turn back the Clock and get out early. The Freshman Class, our seats, pencils, and books. The Seventh Grade, Mr. George Williams, our good sponsor to lead them through the best years of their lives as he has lead us.
