You have helped us through the good and bad times. You comforted us in times of sorrow and laughed with us in times of joy. For this we would like to thank you all. To the teachers, we say thanks, for sharing with us your knowledge and understanding. Thank you to our parents, who helped us lead our own lives and make our own decisions and were always there if we should happen to fall. We thank our friends for understanding our bad moods and depressions, and sharing with us tears and laughter. And to all of you, we extend our greatest appreciation for being there for us when we needed you most. For without you, we would not have the knowledge to go on with our lives and be successful. We thank you all for coming to our graduation today. This, a day for us to begin our new lives. And so, for the Class of 1983, I bid you all farewell. -12-

Prophecy Well, it’s already the year 1993, and the president of the Class of ’83, Julie Orcutt, is wondering how her classmates are doing. Julie decides to try and contact all of them. As soon as her daughter, Erin, catches the bus to school, Julie gets started. The first person Julie contacts is Lorran. It seems that Lorran has been teaching at the University of Montana and is giving piano lessons on the side. Lorran informs Julie that she has written three piano solos for her students to play at the music festival. Lorran is a very busy person but still finds time to keep her horse in shape. It was very hard for Julie to find Marie. Marie has been doing a lot of traveling since high school, and never stays in the same place for very long. When she found Marie she was in Hawaii, resting from a hard month in the African jungles. Thomas was fairly easy to find. He’s still in Brady at the farm. He works real hard on the farm during spring and summer, but the rest of his time is devoted to animals. Tom has built himself a nice little veterinary clinic out on the farm where he treats SMALL animals. The thought of making a 3:00 calving never made him crazy. Ignacio is a practicing surgeon in Venezuela, that is when he can get a patient who’s dumb enough to trust him. Julie had a tough time getting ahold of Jarkko, so she decided to find Leni first to see if they had been in touch. Sure enough, Leni has heard from him. Leni is still in the Navy and Jarkko is in the Finnish Army. Jarkko is so dangerous, nobody knows which side he’s on. Leni, however, has a very important job. She is anchor person on a very big ship. Julie Rouns is living at home with her mother. She is the manager of the Pondera Bank of Conrad. She is doing very well and is dating a Doctor that she met while going to school in Missoula. Tina is living in Missouri now. She is a legal secretary. She really enjoys being a secretary, but her husband isn’t real thrilled with her job. He thinks her boss is too good looking for her to be working for. Her boss used to be a private investigator. His name is Thomas Magnum. “I guess that takes care of the Class of ’83,” says Julie. Just then Erin came home from school. Ward would be coming in from the field in less than an hour, so Julie decides to get supper started. So far, the Class of ’83 is still going strong! -ii-
