But thanks to these people, we were able to pre- sent this annual to you. 2 DEDICATION 1980 Reba Donnell has been the pillar of strength behind the school board for the past 25 years, and it is to her that this 1980 Bulldog is dedicated. She has shown unselfish devotion to her job and has been a staunch supportor of Brady’s numerous activities. When called upon to do something, Reba never hesitates. It is altogether fitting and proper that she be the recipient of this dedication. Thank you, Reba for a job well-done and we hope that you will always be there when we need you. SUPERINTENDENT’S MESSAGE This year’s greatness stems from the cooperation of an excellent staff, school board, and community. Our school system, through the efforts of it’s students in all grades, shows pride and benevolence. The theme of the year, “Leadership from the Ground Up”, epitomized daily by our students, must be encouraged, supported, and emphasized by parents and other adults. Only through our best efforts in support of good education, will the best efforts of our young people be known. Do your part, keep our school system growing with an united pride and spirit. Be thoughtful and active. 5 Jeremy Hebnes Brittnie Hebnes STAFF OF B.H.S. We, the class of 1980, would like to take this opportunity to thank the cooks for a job well done. Bus Driver: Dick Sangray Bus Driver: Bert Paulson Custodians: Bert Paulson and Dick Sangray Bert and Dick have one of the most important, but least pub- licized jobs around the school. It re- quires driving in all types of weather. All of the credit should go to Dick P., Bert, Dick S., and Roy. Thanks for a job well done. Bus Driver: Roy Walker Bus Driver: Dick Preputin 7 PRESIDENTS FAREWELL MESSAGE PRESIDENT: Mary Celeste Babcock Parents, faculty, fellow students, and friends: As the president of the class of 1980, I have been honored by my classmates to present their feelings on this special occasion. As we leave the doors of Brady High School, 1 am sure that we all, deep in our hearts, regret the thought of saying farewell to our high school days forever, but yet we are thrilled at the thought of completing them. We are now standing here with our diplomas in our hands, which is a symbol for the achievement of the goal we set for ourselves several years ago. We must now set a new goal, the success we all hope for; the success our parents and teachers hoped for when they gave us the knowledge we needed. We can best express our appreciation by living in a way that we will make those who have helped us, proud of being part they played in our success. To our parents we thank you for all the help you have given us. You have taught us the basics of life: trust, honesty, and most important, how to love. For without your love we wouldn't have made it this far. To our teachers who have given us their encouragement, advice, and most of all, their time, we thank you for your guidance through the years. There is one important thing that we have acquired during our years at Brady High School, and that is friendship. So to our friends, we shall never forget you. For you have given us a friendship that will last in our hearts forever. We will always have fond memories of BHS, and without the friends we have, there would be no memories. Each of us will cherish these memories. Although we now stand alone, we must excell in our chosen fields so we don't disappoint these people who have shown their trust in us. Now 1 shall quote from an English educator. Canon Drinkwater, You educate to some extent by what you say. more by what you do. and still more by what you are; but most of all by the things you love. s Now for the class of 1980, I bid you farewell. Greg O. In the fall of 1969, 11 excited youngsters entered the classrooms of Brady to begin their first day of school and first step in their journey that would last for 12 years. The members were Mary Babcock, Tommy Coughlin, Patty Comes, Lori Dillman, Sherri Eliason. Teresa McOmber, Tena McOmber, Steve Olson, Patty Payton, Mark and Mike Urton. As we advanced to 2nd grade, we lost Lori and Patty P. but received Leala McCullom as a new face. We all made it to 3rd grade and Maureen Malone, Terry Sherping, and Doak Wofford joined in on our journey. On our way to 4th grade, we lost Teresa and Tena along with the Urton brothers. To make up for the loss though, were Clark Bauman, Debbie Long, John Mendenhall, Dale Rasmussen, and Danny Rossmiller. We all moved along to 5th grade with only one new addition, he was Gary Holm. In sixth grade, we made a big exchange: John M., Dale R., and Doak W., left and Athena Buchfinck, Kim and Karen Ord, Kim Riemer and Dan Zigan joined us. In seventh grade the new faces of Dan Mullins, John Soholt, and John Wills joined us. Our eighth grade graduating class consisted of all of us except Dan Mullins, John Wills, Athena Buchfinck, Kim and Karen Ord, and Kim Riemer and the only addition to it was Pat Comeau. Now we began our last four years. Our Freshman class consisted of 10 members. Mary B., Clark B., Gary H., Debbie L.. Maureen M.. Steve O., Danny R., John S., and Dan Z., and also a new member Michele Hannon. We had one loss and two gains our sophomore year. The loss was Michele Hannon and the gains were Mona Lesto and Greg Orcutt. Mona was an exchange student and didn’t go into our junior year with us, but our next addition was Dell Olson. During our senior year we lost Clark B., but gained Tom Miller. Now the class that is graduating has come to the end of just one of their many journeys in life. Tom M. Steve O. Dan R. The bad time? there weren’t any. I still recall the very first time I laid my eyes on you. I was filled with so much doubt, I’m sure that you were too. But once the ice was broken, And the year began to pass, I knew the kids of Brady High Had a great amount of class. So to the Class of ’80 I’d like to wish you well. I know that whatever you attempt You certainly will excell. To the Class of ’81 I’d like to say to you. Here’s wishing you the most success In everything you do. You are the Mighty Seniors now.
