ANNUAL STAFF AND PHOTOGRAPHERS I'm so confused! I'll bet ya thought I was Joy! I know I'm terrific! PHOOEY! That wasn't funny! See no evil, Hear no evil, and eat no evil! DEDICATION OF THE CLASS OF 79 Mrs. Anna Schlepp Mr. Bob Morris. We dedicate our annual to Anna Schlepp because of her unfailing help in school activities. She has always supported the extracurricular functions at Brady High School. She's cooked for us, kept up the spirit at basketball games and organized potluck dinners. It's her spirt that has gotten many others more invovled. We, the class of 1979, thank you. This dedication is for Mr. Morris. We owe him many thanks. He drives the buses for girl's basketball, the pep bus for the boys, keeps score at ball games, and advises National Honor Society. Mr. Morris, you've taught us many things. We've learned the anatomy of an earthworm, Einstein's Law of Relativity, how our bodies work and the chemical breakdown of compounds. Mr. Morris, we would like to say thank you for the time you've spent with us, the class of 79 , and how you've helped us prepare for the future. 2 BRADY HIGH SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION School Board. We also lost Rick Molenda and Jeff Gordon; we gained Lin Soholt in the eighth grade. Our Freshman Class grew as we added two new students and one old one. Our new students were Mae Speed, and Tracey Young. Rick Molenda returned and April Olson departed our company. We lost Kelly Coughlin, Tracey Young, and Mae Speed in our Sophomore year. Karla Kauk and Mark Tronson left us during our Junior year. Kelly Coughlin and April Olson came back to our fold for our Senior year. They joined 14 other Seniors, who will graduate on May 21, 1979. 9 PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE President Del Styren On behalf of the class of 79 , I have been honored to bid farewell to Brady High School. Many of us have not yet realized that we will not be returning to further our education at B.H.S., but we'll be opening the doors to a whole new life. We'll be leaving from what has been our homes for 18 years and will be stepping into an ocean of totally different water. As our motto says; you have to lose sight of the shore before you can discover new oceans , we'll have to put our younger years in the back of our heads and profit from our past experiences. We can discover what is out in the world waiting for each and everyone of us. Tonight will be the last time that we will all be together as a group. We will have to say good-bye to the friends we have known and grown up with, to the school faculty who has given us so much, and the cooks and custodians who have made our school so much better. We will walk out the school doors for the last time tonight and go into the world to search for a new lifestyle. There is one thing I hope each of us remembers; you can only get out of life what you put into it. Brady had 12 boys turn out for football. Coach Tweet gave us our equipment and we headed to the football field. Everyone had a good time and liked our new coach, Mr. Tweet. We won two games and lost five. The season was fairly successful, considering the experience of the players involved. Kathi Orcutt, Kelsey Kauk, and Karla Seidler. Coach Tweet’s Comments: BRADY FOOTBALL SCORES IN 1978 I was pleased with the team's performance. The boys who turned out worked hard and scored one or more touchdowns in every game. I hope the squad will be larger next year and the Bulldogs can have conference status. Who’s Got Who? The girl's basketball team played well throughout the season, and they finished in second place. They worked hard to win the District Tournament; however their inexperience caught up with them and they finished fifth. It was a satisfying year mainly because a young team matured quickly, and the girls always thought of teamwork first. When everyone congratulated them, the girls said they enjoyed themselves, and that they are determined to win the District Tourney next year. 49 GIRLS’ BASKETBALL-A GOOD YEAR Patti Dunn Co-Captain Best F.G. 96- 37° 1st Team All - Conference Brady-Augusta Invitational Brady 34 Dutton 26 Brady 25 Augusta 44 Conference Record Brady 35 Power 26 Brady 32 Geyser 54 Brady 50 Geraldine 25 Brady 29 Dutton 24 Brady 26 Centerville 27 Brady 45 Stanford 36 Brady 45 M.S.D. Few people realize the amount of co- operation it takes from everyone to have a successful season. I especially want to thank the bus drivers and cheerleaders for their enthusiastic support. The seniors deserve a special pat on the back. We looked to them for leadership and they really came through. I'm grateful to them because they made my first year of coaching an easier one. We had a successful year, even if we didn't go to the State Tournament. The team improved steadily all year and played their best game of the season against Box Elder. We almost beat the Bears and I'm proud of the Brady Bulldogs. 53 VARSITY BASKETBALL ACTION SHOTS Hold on! Never a dull moment. Tenacious Defense Uugh! New Dance Lin? WE’RE ROUGH! THE BULLDOG BARKS- There are three seniors on the team that has been to Divisional the last three years. Four seniors have been on our state team the past two years. Each year, we've had the potential to win it, but have had to settle for third and fifth. Realistically, the team we have this year could be the last team to go to state, at least for the near future. We have seven seniors on the team and I hope the seniors will especially help propel us toward state. I also hope the community supports the team at state. We'd especially like to thaak the parents and the Brady people for their generous support.
