OUR DEDICATED ANNUAL STAFF Editors: William Fitzgerald Claire Reubens Advisor: Mrs. Malone OUR DEDICATION We feel that we are deeply indebted to you, the citizens of this community, for supporting our activities wholeheartedly during the years in which we have been in high school. Without the support of this comrfTunity, there would not have been any dances, plays, or even an annual, it is with deep sense of gratitude and pride that we, the Senior Class of 1976, dedicate this.annual to Our community. I am sure that we all, deep in our hearts, regret the thought of saying farewell to our high school days forever, but yet we are thrilled at the thought of completing them. Graduation is traditionally a time for reminiscing and expressing our gratitude. But each of us has our own special memories and we each will express them in our own way. We can best express our appreciation by living in a way that we will make those who have helped us, proud of being a part they played in our success. To our parents we thank you for all the help you have given us. You have taught us the basics of life: trust, honesty, and the most important ingredient, how to love. For without your love we wouldn t have made it this far. We now portray an image of you, and we hope this image makes your heart proud and happy. To our teachers who have given us their encourgement, advice, and most of all their time, we thank you for your guidance through our school years. And to our friends, we shall never forget you. For you have given us a friendship that will last in our hearts forever. The present time finds us here, about to go forth on our journey. A journey that will last a life- time and will be influenced by the decisions we make now. We begin that journey by taking the first step. It reminds me of a song I once heard and the words said, our time has come, all our dreams are on their way. Now we go forth on our journey, each seeking a different path to follow, but each just as eager to go forth. For the class of 1976, I bid you farewell. 8 Nancy Bate Christine F. He waSTSo voiing!rk fc-• r. So young and stron S ffilWv ith promisr So vital, so radiant, gBpjiig s nuch joy wherever he went. He was so brilliant. On this boy you lavished so many talents that could have ■ enriched your world. He had already received so many honors, and there were so many honors to come. Why, then? In our agony we ask. Why him? Why not someone less gifted? Someone less good? Some hot-headed rioter, theif, brute, hood? Yet we know, even as we demand what seems to us a rational answer, that we are only intensifying our grief. Plunging deeper into the blind and witless place where all hope is gone. A dark lost place where our own gifts will be blunted and ruin replace the goodness he brought and wished for us. Instead, let us thank you for the marvel that this boy was. That we can say good-bye to him without shame, or regret, rejoicing in the blessed years he has given to us. Knowing that his bright young life, his many gifts, have not truly been wasted or stilted, only lifted to a higher level where the rest of us can't follow yet. Separation? Yes. Loss? Never. For his spirit will be with us always and when we meet him again, we will be even more proud. Thank-you for this answer, God.
