For every man the world is as fresh as it was at the first day. And as full of untold novelties for he who has the eyes to see them. Bulldog 1974 Brady, Montana Renee Sangray Mark Donnell Dedication The Class of 1974, after much thought and consideration, decided to dedicate our annual to the people who have affected our lives the most, our parents. These people have given us their time, their patience, their values and morals, and most of all, their love. We pray that as we find our place in this world, that your love and teachings will continue to guide us. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Archer Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bishop Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Copenhaver Mrs. Reba Donnell Mr. and Mrs. Donald Dyrud Mr. and Mrs. David Hastings Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Deidrich Mr. and Mrs. Leland Larson Mr. and Mrs. John McLean Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Perry Mr. and Mrs. Robert Petersen Mr. and Mrs. Dick Robinson Mr. and Mrs. Dick Sangray Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Seidler Mr. and Mrs. Ted Wiest Let this be your dream for your child: That, day by day, they may find themselves, with your help, more and more free to make their own mistakes, and profit by them; to discover their own values, and grow by them; to reject your ways and adopt their own, and mature by so doing. For only thus shall they become better persons than you have been. That in later years they may honor you and other elders, not through some onerous sense of duty, but with sincere affection. 2 Administration Administration He never quits. E. Director OUR STUDENT TEACHERS Mr. Whiteman-Speech Health C. Habel 6 R. Christiaens Seniors President’s Message Honored guests, parents, teachers, and friends: Roughly 18 years ago, we the members of the class of 1974 were first exposed to the world around us. This first world probably included cribs, diapers, and baby-bottles. As we grew, both mentally and physically, our worlds were extended to the limits of our houses and beyond. When our parents gave us the basic knowledge we needed, which is the first step toward success, we graduated from sand-box and moved into our first formal school education. In the first grade, our worlds were expanded to include Dick, Sally, Spot, and our first glimpses at this mathe- matical world. As we progressed, we learned such complexities as grammar, fractions, history, and geography. By now our world also included sports and Jr. High Dances for entertainment. We then left this plateau by graduating from the eighth grade and started climbing the foothills to the mountain of success. Along the path we came across the business letters of typing, the medulla oblongatas of biology, the poetry and literature of American English, and the complexities of this bureaucracy in Government class. These obstacles at times seemed to turn the path into an unscalable cliff on the face of Mount Everest. We always looked forward to the summit, our graduation, with great hope and expectations. We are now standing here with our diplomas in our hands, which is the symbol for the achievement of the goal we set for ourselves several years ago. We must now set a new goal, the success we all hope for; The success our parents hoped for when they taught us to take our first step; The success the citizens hoped for when they paid their taxes to support our schools; The success our teachers hoped for when they gave us the knowledge we needed; and the success our School Board and Administration hoped for when they set down the rules and regulations to see that our schools ran smoothly. Success has a different connotation for nearly every person. Some of the common goals set by the members of our class to achieve success include excelling in farming, various technical trades, or business. I represent the feelings of the entire class in bidding farewell and in expressing sincere gratitude to the parents, tax-payers, faculty, School Board, and Administration. Although we now stand alone, we must excell in our chosen fields so we don't disappoint these people who have shown their trust in us by awarding us our diplomas. I hope we may live throughout our lives by our class motto: What we are to be, we are now becoming. 8 James Archer Kelly Bishop Robert Copenhaver Mark Donnell Michael Jung Linda Dyrud Marilyn Larson Thomas Hastings Steve Perry Keith Petersen Karen Robinson Renee Sangray Arlyn Seidler Carol Wiest What we are to become We are now becoming Class Flower: Red Rose Class Color: Blue Red President: Bill McLean Vice-Pres: Arlyn Seidler Sec-Treas: Linda Dyrud 10 CLASS HISTORY 74 Marily It all began way back in September of 1962, a small group of fourteen youngsters appeared mysteriously at the doorway of Brady Public School. They were all scared up fancy for their first day of school. Five of these youngsters survived through twelve years of learning together. Those students are: Jim Archer, Mark Donnell, Steve Perry, Renee Sangray, and Carol Wiest. There were others, of course, not with the class any longer, who are Dewey Deardoff, Richard Hodgson, Arlene Johnson, Audrey Johnson, Michael O'Brian, James Rhorer, Grace Wood, Thomas Worsley, and Valori Zimbelman. From the second grade to the sixth grade, the class of 74 stayed about the same. During this time we lost Arlene and Audrey Johnson, James Rhorer, Grace Woods, Thomas Worseley in the second grade and only gained Bob Copenhaver. In the third, we lost Valori Zimbelman and gained Donald Pinion. In the fourth grade, we lost Dick Hodgson and gained Deborah Cummings. In the fifth and sixth grades, we lost Deborah Cummings and Michael O'Brian, and gained Karla Dory, Tom Hastings, Bill McLean, Rickie Olson and Karen Robinson. In the seventh grade we only lost one, which was Rickie Olson, and we gained six which were: Kelly Bishop, Martin Morley, Keith Petersen, Arlyn Seidler, David Sletthehogh, and Valori Zimbelman came back. The eighth grade, we lost two, who were Dewey Deardoff and David Slettehogh, but we gained two also, which were Linda Dyrud and Rocky Glaze. In the fall of 1970, the class again appeared at the doorway, only this time at the other end of Brady School, to good Ole Brady High. Just in time for initiation was Mariaann Hylon and also an old classmate, Debbie Cummings. Our Sophmore year saw us lose three, which were, Debbie Cummings, Mariann Hylton, and Martin Morley, and we gained one which was Becky Palo. Moving closer to that magic year of 1974, two additions and two subtractions were made. Mike Jung and Laura McClenahan made up for the loss of Becky Palo, and Valori Zimbelman. Now comes the great year of 1974, for the seniors anyway. We lost Rocky Glaze and Laura McClenahan and we gained Marilyn Larson.
