BASKETBALL 1 f, The 1979-80 basketball season for Bradshaw Mountain High School saw the return of only 2 varsity players and 3 junior varsity team mem- bers. The prospects of a difficult season did not mar the determination of new head coach Mike Haddow - who worked hard in teaching sound fundamentals to a determined and dedicated group of young ball players. Wins were scarce but improvement was evident in all areas producing some late season near victories plus 2 wins over Mayer and Bagdad. BOYS TENNIS There were only two members of the Boys Varsity Tennis team returning from last season. Despite this factor, the boys should go undefeated in conference play. Many of the underclassmen look very promising for the future. Like the boys team there were only two girls returning for their second year of tennis. This is a very young team consisting mostly of sophomores and fresh- en. With hard work they should improve greatly by the end of this season. We've been hampered by rain all season. We have had 3 meets canceled because of bad weather. The track team did participate in the Buckeye Invitational on March 29th. We competed against some stiff opposition, but we were able to see where our strengths and weaknesses were on the track team. The majority on the track team are Freshmen and Sophomores. They work hard and will do what ever is asked of them to do for our team. Most of the team are toward the future with high expectations. As track coach, Coach King is Very pleased with the attitude and effort of each member of the team. We have great hopes for Lynda Hageman and Steve DeGoey this season. Being Seniors, we believe they have an excellent chance for state honors. The 1980 Golf Team was loaded with young Bears The team is composed primarily of sophomores, with one freshman, and one junior composing a strong contender for the state championship in BC Catagory. Coach Lucier predicts a bright future for golf at Bradshaw. The youngsters are working hard to put up another banner, and a trophy in the case. Captain Mike Allen is providing the necessary leadership, being low medallist in the first three matches of the early schedule.
