A less noticeable but, perhaps, a more so- cially relevant change also occurred. University Hall, or U-Hall, lost its reputation as Fortress of the Maidens lbeing an all female dormj when it housed male residents for the first time in many years. Almost all the rooms had been sup- plied with AT8tT microcomputers com- plete with graphics and word-processing programs. Such modernization was not limited to the dorm rooms alone. The redecora- tion of Geisert and University Hall cafe- terias greatly enhanced the dining atmo- sphere. All cafeterias also underwent a switchover in management. MODERN TIMESXS
