Sibling's Weekend Siblings Weekend at Bradley Universi- ty is an event sponsored by the Activities Council which allows the siblings of Brad- ley students the opportunity to exper- ience the University lifestyle. This year's weekend was run by ACBU coordinator, Maryann Davis, and the theme was A Taste of Bradley. Although attendance at this years events was lower than in previous years, those that did participate had a great time. Siblings Weekend is held on the same weekend as Campus Carnival so that the siblings can enjoy the uniqueness of the weekend. Parent's Weekend Two weekends are set aside each year to honor the unsung heroes of Bradley University, the student's parents. ln the Fall several organizations and University offices combine efforts to pro- vide an entertaining weekend for visiting parents. The Fall weekend is the time when the University honors Bradley Dads. At the opening ceremony on Satur- day, October 23, the award was given for the Outstanding Dad of the Year. The play, The Rainmaker, was performed for parents at a special matinee show. The highlight of the weekend was the evening performance of world famous fe- llllllllllli llll lllllllll I Ill ei ll T 1 v W 'm Y Q.. W male commediane, Phyliss Diller. The Activities Council contracted Diller for the evenings entertainment, and the com- mediane had her audience rolling in the ailes. A Spring Potpurri was the theme for the Spring Parent's Weekend which hon- ored Bradley Moms. Early Saturday, April 23, the award for Mom of the year was given beginning a weekend of fun. Throughout the day on Saturday many events were held to entertain the parents. Entertainment was provided throughout the afternoon by various cam- pus and community groups including comedy, music and nostalgia. All the en- tertainment was arranged by Debbie Dempsey of the Activities Council. On Saturday evening the Council worked with the Parents Relations and the Undergraduate Association in the Hawaiann Luau and the evenings enter- tainment, Laughing Stock, and Scott Jones. Parentls Weekend have proved to be a special time at Bradley and each year the enthusiasm grows. -iii- N... ,-
