An apartment complex on the eastern bounds was built to relieve the crowding in the dorms and offer an alternative way of living. The Romeo B. Garrett Cen- ter, at 824 N. University, opened in February to provide ample space for stu- dent meetings and organizations' activities. The beautiful Hartmann Center for the Performing Arts assures Bradley's sustained commitment to the arts. This imaginative restoration of one of our three original buildings provides the com- munity with the exciting Meyer Jacobs Theatre, workshops, classrooms, and an art gallery. Coached by Gregg Neal, the RAH squad specializes in tumbling and pyramids. In November 1979, the sixteen member squad placed ninth of 206 teams in the I.F.C. National Cheerleaders' Competition. For the first time in 30 years, they clinched the Missouri Valley Conference title, defeating Tulsa 81-74 at home on Saturday, February 16, 1980. After winning a berth in the NCAA games, the Braves lost to Texas A 8a M in the first round of the Midwest Regional Play. But their hard work, courage, and style had gained the respect of students, faculty, and the community for miles around. The Braves' Swim Team enjoyed an undefeated season of ten dual meets.
