CAMPUS CA IVAL April 14, 15 and 16 were the dates of the 1978 Campus Carnival. This year, Campus Carnival was moved from the Fieldhouse to Northwoods Shopping Mall in order to get people in the Peoria community more involved in the carnival. The theme of the 1978 Campus Carnival, sponsored by ACBU, was Fun Encounters of the Charitable Kind . Sororities, fraternities, dorm councils and other organi- zations constructed booths relating to the theme. A King and Queen Charity contest was also held. En- trants wore costumes having to do with the outer spacel' theme. Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity started the week- end by sponsoring a Casino Night at the Student Cen- ter. This was the single most-moneymaking event of Campus Carnival Weekend. Many of the participants in this year's Campus Carni- val attempted to break world records, for example the number of miles that a man was carried on a stretcher. They raise money for charity by getting pledges of so much money per hour from other Bradley students. Moving the carnival from Bradley's campus to the mall proved to be a successful idea. The idea of setting aside a special weekend in honor of brothers and sisters of Bradley students came from the Campus Affairs and Activities Committee of the Student Senate. The weekend consisted of cartoons, sports activities and demonstrations at Haussler Hall, a movie, free ice cream party, an all- campus barbecue, and events sponsored by individual dorm councils. The Merri-n-Ettes performed between games at the doubleheader against Western Illinois University. They were aided by some mem- bers of the Inter-Fraternity Council. Combining Siblings' Weekend with Campus Carnival Weekend provided Bradley stu- dents and their brothers and sisters with a fun-filled, organized weekend. IBLINGS' WEEKE D 25
