Prowling for food on unday nights Dorm food reeks. But it,s still a pain to go out prowling for food on Sunday night. But where to go and what to eat? Something cheap but good - not too far if you don,t have a car - and someplace where the lines aren,t six-deep in Bradleyites all with the same idea. Beer, live entertainment, and wild orgies are not to be found at Iumer's or the Boaris Head, but they're the special restaurants reserved for birthdays and anniversaries. The more courageous or talented students try fixing dinner in their illegal popcorn poppers in the dorm. ff engineers, more than ever, will play a crucial role for the next two decades in the develop- ment of Americais economyf' said Dr. Bulkeley. I feel that virtually all engineering deans would agree that women must be aggressively recruited into technical fieldsf, Bulkeley continued. As companies eagerly seek female engineers, conditions now suggest that we have reached the point where female engineering graduates can get almost as many offers as interviews. Male engineers are changing their perceptions of the female very radically. Because engineering was formerly a predominantly male field of study, the first women appeared to be quite self-assertive. They tend to outperform the men in the collegef, Despite an apparent preocupation with the work- ing woman and her rights, Peoria's NOW president, Ms. Van Auken states that the feminist movement does not advocate a woman must be employed out- side the home to consider herself of value, as she explains, We,re trying to point out to society and certainly to the women involved that homemaking is one of the most necessary roles in our society. It's literally been the backbone of it.', i'Sexual prejuidice is the most deeply-rooted in our societyf, said the 29-year-old Bradley student. It,s going to take a long time to change. Our NOW services are going to continue in Peoria because theyire so successful - the legal service in sex discrimination cases, the 24- hour rape crisis line. In addition, we have decided to put a new emphasis on sexism in educa tion and sports, and find out what's going on in the world of credit to help women get the credit they deserve.

hard-cover books, napkins or most regally in the hand since Sunday din-din was discontinued in the dorm cafeterias. The lazier ones order out for a gondola from Avanti,s or pizza from Country Villa Cfor delivery, of coursej. Freshmen and sophomores unaccustomed to Peoria's Sunday night-life flock to nearby McDonald's, L's and Steak in, Shake Cmore than the milk is shaken by the end of the meall to nourish their growing bodies. The juniors and sen- iors have found the more sophisticated spots for dining: Barnaby,s, Lumis and the Inter- national House of Pancakes. Maybe sophisticated isn't exactly the term to use, but at least theyre located far enough from campus to enjoy a change of scenery land smellj. If none of these places suited you, you could always load up on dorm peanut butter and jelly sandwiches during Sunday lunch for evening dining. Whatever the case, Sunday prowling bites.
