College of Education Prepares Well- ualified Teachers Although there are only 151 students enrolled in the College of Education, over SOO students in various colleges are preparing for the teaching profession. This June the first class under the College of Education program instituted in the fall of 1956 will graduate. This program provides prospective teachers with guided observations and practical experience in the classrooms of the Peoria Public Schools. To fulfill graduation requirements, students minor in three fields in addition to taking professional courses in education. This program meets the state requirements for teacher certification.
