Carpets...Furniture...Lace Curtains W W OHSTOCK V E R gj , Quin, 5 'on . ' oA,PA8,4 r THINGS 'fHgAlKLAST are always of an inherent interest and value, While things that don't last are inherently worthless. saw! There is nothing in the world so daintily and delicate ornate as a soap bubble. But the worthless- ness of the beautiful bubble is in its frailty. It lasts but a second. The most precious of possessions, the things which should be se- lected with the most intelligent and discriminating care, are things that constitute the furnishings of the home, not only because they af- ford enioyment to the household in common, instead of but to one member of it, but because they are sources of enioyment for long per- iods of time. We have striven now for over forty-three years to handle such goods as are lasting and ar- tisticg that are good today and can be handed down as heir-looms to posterity. .al J .al .aff asf sa' .ai Q09 Q09 I Draperies.Shades.Rugs

3 1272 00383 6663 A1.E?lJE ll':l5':lUl: Home avings and Investment C0 H. B. DICKINSON President and General Manag Ct' NOT AN EXPERIMENT S3355EQTEZEJENSESSSITZAEZMES IHS OME may become imbued with the erroneous idea that this plan of co-operation - among consumers instead of capitalists is an experiment 3 but if theyinvestigate they will find practically the same plan in successful operation in England. For years the laboring classes of that country have been securing their own homes ' - in just this manner. Thus you see the experimental stage has been passed. Naturally, the more members we have operating and co-operating together, the sooner you will be placed in your home. Many are realizing this daily, as is shown from the fact that three times within the first year of operation the Home Savings and Investment Co. have been forced to seek larger and more commodious quarters in order to be able to handle the increase in business, and at the present time, although having just added two new rooms to their already large suite in the Y. M. C. A. Building, they have no more than is absolutely necessary. lf the plan were an experiment we might fool a few individuals, but it would be an utter impossibility and plain folly to attempt to mislead the thousands who have joined our ranks throughout Central Illinois. No! At last a suc- cessful combination of consumers has been formed that will weather all financial storms and be the final means of conferring the blessing of the ownership of their own homes on hundreds and thousands of renters who would, under any other circumstances, be forced to remain at the mercy of a landlord all their lives.
