SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS President.................Raymond Chancey Vice-President........................Joyce Wooten Secretary.................Barbara Chancey Treasurer.................Barbara Richards SENIOR CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 1947, our class entered a higher school of learning as insignificant Freshmen, in the eyes of the haughty upperclassmen. But, we did very well for ourselves when we elected Raymond Chancey as class president and Ollie Chase as class beauty. We might add that Nancy Gibson was the only Freshman elected to the Thespian Society. In our Sophomore year we became more and more important to the activities of Bradley, re-electing Raymond Chancey as the leader of our class, and Nancy Gibson and Dale Smith as Editor and Business manager of the TRUMPETER. Our Junior year, Raymond Chancey was elected class president for the third time. We really began to fly high when our one-act play “Submerged” won first place, with Joe Glenn as best actor. Also, the majority of the Bradley Beauties, selected by Harry Conover, were from our class. At the end of the year, R. L. Maples, Betty Davis, and Jack Owenbey were chosen to lead our basketball and football teams for the following year. At last we have attained our goal and are now sophisticated Seniors. We are proud of Raymond Chancey, who was again elected president of our class. Richard Morehead, a newcomer, was chosen president of the student body. During our four happy years at Bradley, we have survived our numerous crushes, American History books, teachers, and “THE THING”—student participation in the chapel programs. We all agree Bradley is a pretty wonderful place and commencement will be one of the saddest moments, for we really hate to leave.
