Ray Wood C LASS H I STORY The magnificent halls of Bradley were a source of bewilderment to the fu- ture '49'ers when we entered in '45. The awesome seniors were showered with our "crushes" and reverent stares. However, we finally came down to earth and elected Jack Mitchell as Presi- dent of our class. Our only accomplishment was learning the tricks of escap- ing classroom drudgery. We sailed into our Sophomore year with flying colors and elected Wendell Phillips, who had already gained recognition on the athletic field, as Presi- dent. We really felt like "wheels" this year when Nancy Armstrong won best actress for the Sophomore one-act play. May Jane Fabiani and Carl Campbell were elected to take over the TRUMPETER the next year. We showed our intellectual powers in our Junior year by again electing Wendell Phillips for President. Honors came this year when George Brown, Everett Harris, and Shirley Cornutt were elected as Captains of the football and basketball teams for the coming seasons. We made itl At long last, after four years of skipping classes, living in detention halls and "brown-nosing" teachers, we were SENIORS. This year Everett Harris was elected President, We ended up our career at Bradley by putting on a distinctly original May Day program, senior banquet and senior play. Commencement day dawned fine and clear and Bradley High School began mourning our loss.
