H0 ECDM NG- 2 1 Z The homecoming dance was a perfect ending for homecoming week. 115 Joni Corbett, this year's queen, reigned over the dance. Todd and Heather Aust, getting in practice for their high school years, were crown bearers for Queen Joni. 125 Becky Yeates, freshman, was escorted by Steve Matheny. 131 Dee Dee Barnes, sophomore, was escorted by Denny Pommier. 141 janet Kotten- dorf, junior, had as her escort, Woody Umphrey. Couples like 167 Dave Allie and Kathy Hebert and 175 Larry Kinder and his date, danced to music of 153 Blue Gin. 181 Dion Clary and Liz Ahlemann decided to sit out a dance and enjoy some refreshments. 24 Homecoming

LIL ABNE Putting on a musical play was more work than anticipated by KZQ Ms. Price, this year's director. Q15 Li'l Abner was the first musical for all of the cast. They found it to be more than a script, some lines, and a stage. Long, hard hours were spent repeating line after line, scene after scene, until all was perfect. Next, scenery had to be built and tickets had to be sold. Props, also, had to be located. There seemed to be no end to the work. Despite routine ups and downs, opening night arrived. The lights dimmed and the show began. 161 Tim Hancock and Denise Calvin, who played Li'l Abner and Daisy Mae, did a superb job. 181 Minor Characters like Romeo Scragg and 131 Stupidfying Jones, played by Richard Fey and Donna Baker, added great support to the lead characters. Q71 In one major scene, Abner had to join forces with his unknown enemy, General Bullmoose and assistant, roles played by George Germaine and Marty Wertz. 151 It took people like Joe Mills as Earthquake Mc- Goon, and Q43 Mammy Yokum, portrayed by Elaine Hlavach, to save Abner from this life or death predicament. 2 6 L11 Abner 1
