W MR. S. A. SMITH Principal Bradley- Bourhonnais Community High School S. A. SMITH, Principal E North Street and Center Avenue BRADLEY, ILLINOIS To the Students: You are privileged to be a citizen of a great country, in one of its greatest periods of development. America is now taking its place as one of the leading powers, if not the leading power in world affairs. America is great because of the manner in which it was organized as a democracy, because of its natural resources, because of its tradition, because each citizen has been recognized to have equal rights and privileges with all others, because each citizen could see the value of improving himself and his community, and also because many persons have been jealous of these privileges and have learned to assume their obligations as citizens. America has had to learn that along with rights and privileges to be enjoyed, obligations have had to be assumed and met.. Your high school is one of the agencies that assists'you to be prepared to better take your place in such a society. Good citizenship in your school is the best prepara- tion to help you meet the challenge of the future. It is fortunate that we always have Young America with us. That is what perpetu- ates our vigor and growth. Each generation has grown to maturity and has met the problems of their day, as well or better than the preceding ones. We have the utmost faith that your generation will carry on the tradition of America in its position of world leadership. Sincerely, S. A. SMITH, Principal MISS DORIS BEACH Secretary Principal is' Message
