E IOR CL SS HISTORY I dreamed, and be behold, I saw in my dream, Pilgrims in a wierd wilderness. Then I saw in my dream, that when they were got out of the wilderness, they presently saw a town before them and the name of that town is Bradley. And at that town there is a fair kept called Higher Learning. It is kept so that those who wish to better themselves may be able to do so. And many things can be purchased here, such as reading, writing, arithmetic, and good citizenship. - , This fair is no new erected business, but a thing of ancient standing. And moreover, at this iair, can be seen scholars, cheats, athletes, playboys, and girls. Now at this fair there are several booths, Algebra, English, Biology, Chemistry, History, and so for.h, at which 101' a very small amount, one can acquire as much as he wishes. , Now these Pilgrims chose to be represented at the fair by General Decker, Captain Hayes, Master Sergeant Kohan, and Sergeant McClain. The head of the fair at that time was Principal Honn, who ruled over it with a guiding hand, and under him was his corps of highest rank, teachers. But it was the second highest and mighiiest at the fair, the Seniors, who took the task of showing the new members their way around, and also initiated them into their higher society. Now some of the dreadful tortures these Pilgrims had to undergo, to enter 'into this higher society were the snake dance, which was a horrid dance around a baking fire. The Pilgrim boys were also put through many disastrous ordeals in which some of them lost their personal belongings, and then all the Pilgrims were put through many embarrassing experiences, such as wearing tueir clornes inside uot and lipstick painted over their faces. Being of courageous nature, these Pilgrims ventured back to the fair of the next year. After arriving, they pursued the old friends and comrades of the former fair. This done, they proceeded to the immediate business at hand by choosing their representatives for the fair, these being General Decker, Captain Hayes, Master Sergeant Anderson, and Sergeant Leszczewicz. Now being in a position to rot only participate in business at the fair but also to conduct it, the Pilgrims decided that they should establish themselves as a power. They went about this in many ways. Now the first way they did this was by holding a dance called the Sophomore Dance, which was a success. The second way that 'the Pilgrims estab- lished themselves as powers was through the Pilgrim boys. These boys showed their prowess in athletics and this proved that they could hold their own against the best of them. The Pilgrim girls also made a fine showingin Home Economics by proving that they were fine cooks and homemakers, as well as scholars. Now I saw in my dream, that they went on to the fair of the next year. This year the Pilgrims were faced with many tasks, for they had to acquire funds for the gala event of the fair. ,'Now this event was the entertaining of the higher society of the fair, who were going to attend the fair for only one more year. Being a great undertaking, for which they were responsible, the Pilgrims chose their leaders with care. Those chosen were General Hoffman, Captain Hayes, Master Sergeant Sears, and Sergeant Kohan. When this was accomplished, the officers went about the task of organizing committees to acquire funds for this gala affair. Now the Pilgrim lads played in most of the athletic events, so the task of acquiring these funds lay in the hands of the Pilgrim girls. These girls, being of stout heart, worked hard and long in raising the funds nf'ces arv. t Now with the fine leadership of Orville Hoffman, the gala-affair became a reality, and it was carried on in royal style, the Pilgrims electing as their king' and queen Edward Hayes and Dolores Bisping. Thus, llle PilgI'1mS halfe made :i success of their most important year at the fair. Now, having attended the fair of higher learning for three years, and having but one more year to attend before receiving their scroll, designating them as ones who had attended, they whole- heartedly decided to return for the next, and their final, session at the fair. Now, I saw in my dream, that the Pilgrims arrived at the fair in fine spirit- and used the power vested in them in a way benefiting the school. The Pilgrims had become seniors at the fair and this made them the most powerful group of all there. But the Pilgrims did not use this power unwisely, but used it diligently and resourcefully for the betterment of the fair. Those chosen by the Pilgrims to lead them through this final year of their attendance at the fair were General Hayes, Captain Leszczewicz, Master Sergeant Gereaux, and Sergeant Wertz. The Pilgrim boys were exceptionally skillful in two types of contests thatifound great merit in the eyes of the persons at the fair: the first, running with an oblate spheroid against eleven adversaries, the second, throwing a large ball ll1T011gl1 a small net suspended from a metal hoop. In the first type of contest, the Bradley fair team was unvanquishedg in the second, the group-. covered itself wlth great lgongr by winning a game in the Great Carnival held some eighty miles south of ra ey, Now these Pilgrims had made good use of their visits to the fair and were better able to cope with the tasks ahead of them.
