This year was suc- cessful as the Girls Chorus won third place in the Annual Music Contest. In 1950 honor was again given to them for fourth place. The next few years Miss Williams had charge and the Club actively participated in the contests. A Music Festival was then organized in 1956. This eliminated competition, but kept the afternoon program in which each school was given eight minutes for its part. In the evening all the schools participated in the splendid group singing directed by a guest conductor. Since 1936 Miss Brock has directed the group. ings Club This With Mixed choruses and boys glee clubs have also been organized several years. Each year the organization elects officers. Regular business and social meet are held each month. Outside activities are often sponsored. One year the earned some money by selling candy and ice cream at the basketball games. year a short play was presented for the high school assembly -- nchristmas the lul11gans.' In addition to the County Music Festival, the Glee Club sings at a special program of their own on nlusic Night' in the Bradley Gymnasium. This year they appeared at n0pen House,n 'Band Concert,W and nBaccalaureate.n The numbers sung on these occasions were 'Homing,' Ulndian Dawn,n nltalian Street Song,n naround the Gypsy Fire,u nBe11s of St. Mary,n and nEnglish Folk Song.
