The Parade The parade on Friday afternoon was enjoyed by the hundreds who lined the Streets of Starke to view the results of many long hours of work on the part of many groups. The winning float was created by the Harmonetts, a music group, of Bradford High School. But the most entertaining were the floats of the u01d Gradsf' Beauty was added to the attraction by the presence of Homecoming Queen Linda and her court. Whirl Because of a long Thursday of rain the Tornado Whirl was held during the school day on Friday, much to the delight of all the students. The excitement of the events that were to occur that day was felt by all as they filed into the stadium. The skits, all in some way telling of the eventual defeat of the Pirates, were viewed by all with delight. The Senior Class took top honors with their skit, The Trial of Tom Dooley. Although new to the school, the Seventh Grade managed to win second place honors with The Pirate Conqueror. The entertaining third place skit was Gun Smog featuring the members of the Science Club. The highlight of the day was the announce- ment by the Master of Ceremonies, Coach Temple, of the 1958 Homecoming Queen, Miss Linda Caskins. irate fights Jim the P u r p l e Eater. with the F.F.A. Band.
