Behind the solid, staid brick ex- terior of Bradford High School, one can find eager vibrant students en- gaged in a myriad of different ac- tivities. From the sounding of that first bell in early September to the cries of delight on the last day of school a steady stream of events keeps the students forever on the move. While studies provide the knowledge of facts that will help one as an adult, the extracurricular ac- tivities are an important integral part of a well-rounded life. Success of a project well done, fellowship with friends, taking part in some sport, or cheering on fellow students-all help a student to learn to accept more and more responsibility. Next year many of these activities will take place in our new auditorium. The following pages are a record of some of the events that took place this year.

Whirl Because of a long Thursday of rain the Tornado Whirl was held during the school day on Friday, much to the delight of all the students. The excitement of the events that were to occur that day was felt by all as they filed into the stadium. The skits, all in some way telling of the eventual defeat of the Pirates, were viewed by all with delight. The Senior Class took top honors with their skit, The Trial of Tom Dooley. Although new to the school, the Seventh Grade managed to win second place honors with The Pirate Conqueror. The entertaining third place skit was Gun Smog featuring the members of the Science Club. The highlight of the day was the announce- ment by the Master of Ceremonies, Coach Temple, of the 1958 Homecoming Queen, Miss Linda Caskins. irate fights Jim the P u r p l e Eater. with the F.F.A.
