Open it now and read the story of this past year at K.H.S. Read it with a sense of accomplishment, pride, and possibly with a little sorrow. Yes, here it is . . . your SPY for l96O . . . filled with just about two hundred pages . . . a book put together with many hours of work and worry .. . get the pic- tures taken, write the copy, lay out the pages, sell the ads, promote subscriptions . . . and yet, it is a book made up of more than that. Its essential element is you - yes, each and every one ot you. lt it were not, there would be no sense in having a yearbook at all. You may argue that your picture is not in the book very otten, or that you were never on a team, but, in any case, my answer is this - It you walked the halls ot K.H.S,, ran to Bill's, saw the games, sold the tickets, put the decorations up, ate the cupcakes, or merely went to classes, this book is tor you. lt you added figures, studied grammar, dissected trogs, punched a typewriter, mixed chemicals in the lab, made sparks fly in electric- ity, set type, learned amo . . . amos . . . amat, memo- rized theorems, or gave speeches, this book is tor you. lt you argued with teachers, ran to beat the tardy bell, his 'il ate in the lunchroom, read the Kenews, complained about grades, or torgot your homework, this book is for you. And . . . in a somewhat larger sense . . , it you headed committees, ran the newspaper, acted in the play, reigned as royalty, played the instruments, sang in the choirs, led a club, represented the school abroad, or played on the field or court or in the pool or on the mat or greens, this book is tor you. 'We are in an age ot progress , . . an age in which we begin to wonder when science will reach its saturation point, Fads are wild, wacky, and beautitul at the same time, music is loud and sott at once, lite is calm and mixed up, and every day new and wonderful ideas are expressed by scientists, authors, educators, philosophers, and politicians.
