Mildred Patrick, A.B. , M.A., University of Kentucky, Ball State University. Mrs. Patrick taught in Kentucky and Mississinawa prior to her teaching post at Bradford. She has taught here for 2 years. The B.O.E. class learns the skills of Typing I, Shorthand I, Recordkeeping, Business Law and Consumer Economics, and Office Machines. 15 Language Leone Bihl, A.B., Morehead State University. Mrs. Bihl has taught 3 years at Bradford. She was also head librarian this year. Ruth Erbaugh, Manchester College, Miami University, Wright State University. Mrs. Erbaugh has taught English for 27 years. Mrs. Bihl checks ott newly arrived library books. Department Phyllis Robinson, Eastern Kentucky University, Berea College. This is her first year teaching at Bradford. John Hughes, Hanover College. Mr. Hughes was replaced by Miss Mona Green, who attended Miami University. This was Mr. Hughes's and Miss Green's first year of teaching at Bradford 17 Miss Robinson reads literature assignment for next class. Social Robert Darton, B.S., Defiance College, Monmouth College, Seton Hall University. This is Mr. Darton's third year of teaching at Bradford High. Mr. Darton displays one of his many skills to his history class. Thomas J. Goubeaux, B.S., Ohio State University, University of Dayton. T. J. is struggling through his third year of teaching courses in social science. • Betty Richard appears to be quite bored by Mr. Goubeaux’s theories on economics. Studies Mr. Neal points out an interesting fact to a student in History. 19 Mr. Neal, hesitantly enters the drivers education car. Sciences Max Miller, B.S., Mechanical Engineering, Indiana Technical College, Oberlin College, Ohio Northern University, University of Dayton. He taught 3 years of math at Hardin High School before coming to Bradford. Mr. Miller has been teaching for 7 years at Bradford. James Thayer, Findlay College. This is his second year of teaching at Bradford. He previously taught for one year at Keystone High School. Again this year, Mr. Thayer coached our great football team. Ed. Creates Athletes Howard Riley, B. S. Ohio Northern University, Ball State University. Mr. Riley taught two years previous at Fairlawn High School and has been at Bradford four years. Barry Brown did his student teaching at Bradford. Here he shows the sophomore boys the art of wrestling. Charlcie Ogg, Wright State University. This is her first year of teaching at Bradford. The Juniors, in keeping with the The Cheerleaders' float, Stepping Stones to Victory, added spirit of Homecoming, built a vie- much to the activities, tory float. 35 Tahitian Jerry Hocker places a crowing touch on the head of Linda Apple while Holly Stocker looks on joyfully. Linda and Jerry stand together as God and Goddess. The Junior Class deserves much credit for the exquisite prom they put on for the Seniors. Their theme was Tahitian Holiday; the Tiki God was one of the numerous decorations which added to the splendor of the evening. 36 Holiday The Brass Syndicate supplied the music for the evening. Their interpretation of various songs were enjoyed by all. Dave Brewer, Marla Palsgrave, Kathy Moore, and Nick Carine were two of the many couples who took in the scenery of our brightly decorated cafeteria. Five players received special honors at the Football Banquet: Roger Scalf - Sr. Manager; Jay Sanders - Team's Award and Best Offensive Back; Tim Bayless -Best Offensive Lineman; Scott Gephart -Best Defensive Lineman; Ron Kiser - Best Defensive Back. Mike, Hink, Geppy, Rog, Turtle, Sarg, Orville, Nick, and Peeps, nine seniors engineering the train, played their last year of football as Railroaders. 40 t A Man’s Game The Railroaders of the 1968 Football Team experienced a year of hardships and glories. Their enthusiasm through long, enduring practices, and hard -hitting com -petition in games taught them the value of team work -together they tasted the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. Okay, guys, everybody push together; now t Care to dance, my dear? Aw, gee. Coach, 1 only wanted to leave early because I've got a heavy date tonight. Last one across the line is chicken. Basketball — The Varsity Roaders for the 1968-1969 Basketball Team were: J. Hocker, R, Sampson, D. Peeples, R. Anderson, S. Gephart, D. Sargent, J. Lavey, J. Hunt, R. Baker, M. Myers. HOWARD RILEY, Varsity Coach The Seniors, playing their last year for Bradford, put forth a mighty effort for a successful season. Griffith, R. Kiser, R. Cool, S. McMullen, Coach Larry Patrick. 42 Where the Action Is The fast break is a devastating weapon. It can enable a team to break a game wide open in the matter of seconds. Jim, Ron, and Jerry dem -onstrate the three -lane break, that is so effective. Free-throw shooting wins basketball games. This year's team shot over 63°Io from the line that won several ball games. Scott and Don anticipate a possible rebound of Dennis's foul shot. Ball handling is an im -portant ingredient in a successful team. A com -plete basketball player has mastered the art of passing and dribbling.
